SOLUTIONS | Cold-Chain Storage & Transport

The cold-chain is a critical part of the food and pharmaceutical industries, as it ensures that perishable products are safe and of desired quality at the point of consumption.

Fuel costs in India constitute around 45% of operating expenses of cold storage, optimal temperature and humidity tracking provide the visibility needed to optimize cold-chain operations.

Cold-Chain Storage & Transport
Processed Food Storage & Transport

Processed Food Storage & Transport

firmcompute   industrial sensors can be installed in the following configurations:

  1. Coldrooms:FC-252 BT & BH can be hung inside cold rooms at strategic locations - "No drilling required". The FC-G45 gateway can be installed outside the cold-room powered by UPS supply. These sensors are used in Dairy, Pharma coldrooms
  2. Ripening Chanbers:FC-252 BH Sensors can be hung inside ripening chambers rooms at strategic locations - "No drilling required". The FC-G45 gateway can be installed outside the chamber powered by UPS supply.
  3. firmcompute   sensors are recommended for the following applications:

    1. Chocolate: Temperature : 15-20°C (59-68°F), Humidity : 45-55%
    2. Cheese: Temperature : 2-4°C (35.6-39.2°F), Humidity : 80-90%
    3. Bakery products (e.g., bread, pastries): Temperature : 18-24°C (64.4-75.2°F), Humidity : 60-70%
    4. Fresh produce (e.g., fruits, vegetables): Temperature : varies by type, typically 0-10°C (32-50°F), Humidity : varies by type, typically 85-95%
    5. Dairy products (e.g., milk, yogurt): Temperature : 0-4°C (32-39.2°F), Humidity : 85-95%
    6. Meat and poultry: Temperature : 0-4°C (32-39.2°F), Humidity : 85-95%
    7. Seafood: Temperature : varies by type, typically -1 to 4°C (30.2-39.2°F), Humidity : 90-95%

These ranges may vary slightly depending on specific products and manufacturers, but generally, maintaining these conditions helps preserve the quality, freshness, and safety of processed foods during storage and transport.

Pharma & Bio-medical

Pharma & Bio-medical

Pharmaceutical and Bio-medical supplies have a wide range of temperature requirements that can be tracked with firmcompute   sensors:

  • Most temperature sensitive medicines are refrigerated between 2°C to 8°C at storage and transport.
  • BCG, Hepatites and Inactivated Polio Vaccines are refrigerated between 2°C to 8°C at storage and transport.
  • Bacterial cultures, Genomic DNA and Plasmid DNA are stored and transported at -22°C to -45°C.
  • Enzymes are stored and transported at around -20°C.
  • Varicella and MMR vaccines are stored and transported at -15°C to -45°C.

Agriculture Produce

Agriculture Produce

firmcompute   sensors can be used to track temperature and humidity in agriculture produce transportatipon and storage, following are the common use-cases:

Root Vegetables (Potatoes, Carrots, Beets): Stored and Transported at 7°C to 10°C (45°F to 50°F).

Citrus Fruits (Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruits): Stored and Transported at 7°C to 10°C (45°F to 50°F) for optimal freshness.

Bulb Flowers (Tulips, Daffodils, Hyacinths): Stored and Transported at around 4°C to 7°C (39°F to 45°F).
